The Asia Cup cricket league tournament 2023 will be played jointly in Pakistan and Sri Lanka this year. The 16th edition of the one-day format cricket was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All the fans were waiting for the announcement of the championship. This time 6 Asian teams are playing in the tournament. A total of 13 matches will be played to declare the champion of the Asia Cup 2023. Nepal is going to debut this time in international cricket. As we know India refused to play in Pakistan, that’s why the Asian Cricket Council has changed the venue of India’s matches from Pakistan to Sri Lanka.
India is going to play against Pakistan at a neutral venue in Sri Lanka. All 6 teams are split into two groups, Group A and Group B. Asia Cup 2023 Ind vs Pak Match- Venue
For the first time in the history of the Asia Cup, the men’s Asia Cup 2023 will be played on a hybrid model of hosts. We all know that India has rejected playing any type of cricket in Pakistan due to its strong stand against terrorist activities. Asia Cup host announcement was delayed due to this situation. The hybrid model for the tournament was introduced to solve the issue by Nazam Sethi former chairman of PCB.
According to the model Pakistan will host the first 4 matches of the Men’s Asia Cup 2023. All the matches will be played in Lahore Stadium and then all the teams will move to Sri Lanka for the rest of the matches. The final fixture of the Asia Cup 2023 has not been announced by the ACC yet.
